Sgurr Choinich approach and driving tour of Torridon area - 25/09/2019
As can be seen from the image of Loch Carron above, today started out with mixed cloud and blue sky giving some degree of optimism that the clouds may lift above the tops as they had done yesterday. I set out with a view to doing two Munros with a bike-in approach, but when I got as far as the start of the walking circuit the cloud-base was fixed stubbornly at around 500m, so I concluded it would be both foolish and unenjoyable to continue. The bike ride was enjoyable ~5-6km each way; 50mins there with ~250m of ascent and 15mins back.
Having given up on the walk, I returned to the car and opted for a driving tour through the Torridon range and the Shieldaig peninsula. This was longish but passes through some dramatic mountain, loch and coastal scenery.
