May 9th-17th a visit for pleasure:
We stayed at the Falcon Hotel in Bromyard, Herefordshire on the night of 8th - so that I could have a night of moth-trapping on Bringsty Common. I was targetting Silver Cloud - a species only found in Severn region. As luck would have it there was one sitting on the top of the first trap I checked next morning. By the time I had finished I had 18 (by far the commonest Noctuid of the night) - so although it is a nationally scarce species it seems to be locally common. |
