Cornwall 15-22/06/2024
We stayed in self-catering accommodation in an old farmhouse at West Roose, not far from Camelford. We arrived late - direct from the Scillonian which arrived at Penzance at 19:30. The weather remained generally cool for June but there was no rain until the afternoon of our last full day here. We mainly spent our time away from the house walking on Bodmin Moor or on the SW coastal path, but we also visited a National Trust property near Bodmin and spent some time on the Camel Trail. At the house we relaxed, reading and for me re-learning Spanish and playing chess. A Peacock and a covey of Guineafowl were regular visitors to our garden.

20th June: Camel Trail - I hired a bike and cycled the whole trail in both directions from Wadebridge (59km). Alison walked Wadebridge to Padstow and back. This was an enjoyable enough exercise but the cycling had little excitement or challenge and there are much better walks elsewhere on the north Cornwall coast.
21st June: Crackington Haven circuit (good) d: 7.5km a: 430m t: 2h
