Birds
72 Bird species were seen on Scilly, including 2 Scilly pelagic trips. There was very little to see on the land this week, but the seabirds were amazing. The outstanding highlight was a Fea's Petrel, (almost certainly Deserta's) on the 26th August pelagic. Scilly pelagics operate 6 days per week June to August inc. and less frequently to end-Oct and have been operating since 2006. They have had this species on only 7 previous occasions - so I really hit the jackpot. The Common Dolphins accompanying us and the feeding frenzy of Gannets, Manx, Great, Cory's and Sooty Shearwaters provided a great spectacle.
