Tuesday 21st July
Walked into Conwy across Conwy Mountain. Visited Conwy Castle and walked on some of the walls. Built over a period of 4 years in the 13th Century this was one of a series of castles that secured the English invasion and takeover of Wales – as well as the castle, Conwy town was walled – to protect the English within and to keep the Welsh out. Walked back and had a quiet afternoon – started a jigsaw. Strong winds for much of the day, but at dusk the wind dropped to virtual stillness with the prospect of a good moth night.
