Loch Naver 19th-26th June 2021
En route to Loch Naver we did a major shop at the large Tesco store at Inverness, in preparation for our remote self-catering cottage at Old Grumbeg close to the shores of Loch Naver in Sutherland. We had a good view of the loch with Ben Klibrek looming on the other side often covered in cloud. Red Deer were seen regularly but there was surprisingly little other wildlife and really nothing on the Loch itself.
20th June: Forsinard RSPB and Strathy Point (see next)
21st June: Talmine circuit 22nd June: Ben Hope (Munro) 23rd June: Invernaver 24th June: Dunrobin Castle 25th June: Day of rest |
Grumbeg was involved in the Highland clearances of the 19thC. Near to the cottage was one visitation point of the Strathnaver Trail with some ruins from these times and an explanatory notice.
