Sri Lanka 10-26/02/2024
A Wings birding tour with my son, Ben.
The main targets were to see the Sri Lankan endemic bird species and to spend some quality time with Ben. These targets were met!
This was an excellent, enjoyable, well-organised and well-led tour, with plenty of birds to see much of the time. Most of the birding was in national parks and other scenic areas and all of our accommodation was in good birding habitat. (See the recent Indonesia tour for contrast).

Sri Lanka is an island in the Indian Ocean, 55km off the south-east coast of India, from which it is separated by the Palk Strait. It is 432km north-south and 224km east-west. It has a population of approximately 22 million. |
This was a small group tour with just 4 participants, our leader Deepal Warakagoda (author of the Helm field guide to the Birds of Sri Lanka) and our excellent driver, Herath.
