19th & 20th April - Cheynes Beach
Cheynes beach is a must-do place for birders visiting south-west Australia, in the hope of seeing 3 skulking species with a very restricted distribution: Noisy Scrubbird, Western Bristlebird and Western Whipbird. We enjoyed walking the trails and the beach and managed to see two of the three species well. Assuming we had identified the call correctly, the Noisy Scrubbird seemed to be plentifully present but it would not show itself to us despite much time given over to the effort. We enjoyed a 3 night stay here.
