Carsaig Arches - 20/06/2018
Distance: 13.25km; Ascent 84m; Time 7h
A long walk in generally good weather on rough ground and rock - leading to the Carsaig arches. There are two arches, but reaching the second arch involves climbing the precipitous slope above the first arch - the guide book advises that a slip here would be fatal. I went to have a look but there was a landslip right across the steepest part of the goat-track over the arch - I decided it would be unwise to proceed.
WIldlife seen included several Dark Green Fritillaries, one Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary, lots of 6-spot Burnets, a herd of feral goats and a Great Northern Diver.
