Wednesday 27th July 2016 - Scafell Pike (978m)
Today Alison, Peter, Matthew and I took advantage of a fine day and drove across Berker Fell to Wasdale to climb Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England. This is quite a straightforward ascent which we made slightly more tricky by ascending the scree gully to Mickledore. There were many people on the mountain today - this being the only day of the week on which the summit was clear. We descended to the Inn at Wasdale Head for a well-earned pint. Distance: ~9km Ascent: 900m
