12th & 13th April - Perth
We hired a car from Sixt at the airport in Perth. As usual I found navigation difficult on day 1, but after two U turns we eventually arrived at our accommodation in time to spend much of the afternoon in King Georges Park - just across the road from the motel. Being the school Easter holidays the park was quite busy. We had a pleasant enough time reintroducing ourselves to some of the commoner Australian bird species.

Next morning we went to Ellis Brook valley and arrived without any navigational problems. Here we did the connected Blue Wren Ramble and Sixty Foot Falls walks - a total of 5km. Here we found our first new Australian birds and enjoyed a good walk - although there was no water flowing over the 'falls'.
