South Sulawesi - 18th &19th October - Days 1 & 2
Early morning on 18th October we flew from Depensar (Bali) to Makasar (South Sulawesi). After collecting our luggage we went directly to Rammang Rammang arriving at ~10am to start our first day of birding. Here we visited the Salenrang Stone Forest - an area of karst derived from upthrust seabed coral. Some images of this area are shown in the gallery below:
The birding here was enjoyable on trails well away from any traffic. We stopped for lunch and then walked the same trail again.
24 Bird species were seen, 7 of which were new for me. We also found a small group of Moor Macaque.

On the morning of the 19th October we visited the Karaenta Forest Reserve for a morning of birding.
Here I recorded just 11 species, 7 of which were new for me.
