Loch Ruthven & Linn of Dee: Saturday 7th May 2016
Today we spent driving from Struy to Braemar. We diverted to Loch Ruthven RSPB reserve where we found 3 Slavonian Grebes and a pair of Red-throated Divers (and some unnecessarily noisy co-inhabitants of the hide). The birds were too distant for good photography (possibly because of the contents of the above parentheses). We arrived at Meall Daroch, our accommodation for the week, on the quiet road between Braemar and the Linn of Dee, at about 3pm – and settled in. I went for a short cycle ride to the Linn of Dee while Alison had a quiet read.
