Day 12: 03/06/2015 Lismore Island
Decided to have more relaxed day on the coast. We took the passenger ferry from Port Appin to Lismore Island and did a short circular walk around its northern headland. Managed the whole walk without recourse to wet weather gear, intermittently sunny but still cold for the time of year. Found our best picnic spot of the year so far overlooking the sound between Lismore and the Appin peninsula with views of the mountains in the distance - including the top of Beinn Fhionnlaidh which we had been to without really seeing yesterday. As a bonus while we were sitting there a Narrow Bordered Bee Hawkmoth appeared feeding on Bird's-foot Trefoil about 3m below us. I was able to get a couple of poor but diagnostic photos before it shot off never to be seen again (despite 2 hours of searching).

Today was the first time on this trip that the evening weather has been good enough to go out in search of evening/dusk flying moths and the first time we've had any sort of sunset view. I went to Inchcree falls and collected several moths one of which is definitely new for me and another two remain to be identified. I left a trap there.
