St Agnes 05/10/2021 and Tresco 07/10/2021
On Tuesday 5th Ben & I visited St Agnes on a fairly rough crossing in the hope of seeing an American Buff-bellied Pipit (which we saw fairly well) and a Common Rosefinch (which, as usual, we did not find).
We also had lunch in the Coastguards Cafe, called in on Dave Grundy and had the obligatory Troytown ice-cream. On Wednesday 6th we had a quiet day on St Marys.
On Thursday 7th we all spent a lovely sunny day on Tresco. We dipped on Pectoral Sandpiper, but did see Spotted Redshank (not a particularly uncommon species generally, but we had not seen one on Scilly before) and Dotterel. Had a good pizza for lunch in the Ruin Beach Cafe.

Ben has amazingly good hearing, especially when compared to my inability to hear anything high pitched. On our day on Tresco he kept disappearing to seek out the crickets that for him were making themselves apparent with loud stridulation, but for me were completely silent.
