Cumbria etc 16th- September
4am start on 16th to go and see a Black-eared Wheatear at Pilling in Lancashire. This was a very easy bird to find and see on the seawall - but much more difficult to be confident of the ID, being almost identical to Pied Wheatear in female plumage.
