Our first major avian rarity turned up on Tresco on the 12th day of our trip - a Swainson's Thrush - a transatlantic vagrant. After waiting for an hour or so this bird eventually showed very well, though it tended to stick to fairly dark places making photography difficult.

Having seen the bird we had a very nice lunch at the Ruin Beach cafe - for us, the top lunch spot in the Isles. After which we did a circuit of Castle Down.
